Obsession is a 45' Hatteras Convertible with Twin Detroit-Diesels 8V-71, Rupp Outriggers, International fighting chair, custom built rods from 20-80 lbs. With PENN Spinning reels and ALUTECNOS single and two speed reels. She's fully airconditioned, equipped with the latest electronics and safety equipment, fully licensed and comprehensively insured.

“Doubleheader” is a 55’ Hatteras Convertible, equipped for

serious fishing. She has twin Detroit Diesel engines with a total power of 1.740 HP. The yacht is fully air-conditioned and equipped with the finest electronics and Rods and Reels from 12-80 lb./test. An automatic life-raft, a 13’ Boston Whaler and a 20-kW Generator

complete her outfit. The interior features a large salon with L-shaped Settee, a large fully equipped Galley, a Dinette seating 4, Master Stateroom with Queen-size Bed, a VIP-Stateroom with upper and lower berth and

a bow-stateroom with upper and lower berth. Master-and Vip-stateroom are equipped with heads and shower as well as TV and DVD

players. The boat has a large cockpit with a full-size fighting chair, seating for 8 on the flybridge, and a tuna-tower.

Both boats are conveniently located at the Catamaran Marina, Falmouth, on the south coast of Antigua. Falmouth is a center for sailing and fishing boats, particularly in the winter months, and fishing starts right outside the colorful harbor in the DEEP blue waters south and east of the island.

Antigua's waters produce exciting catches of blue and white Marlin, Wahoo, Tuna, Kingfish and Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi). "Obsession" is the first and only boat in Antigua to catch all 5 billfish species in our waters: Swordfish, Blue and White Marlin, Sailfish and Spearfish and we hear again and again from our guests that we gave them "The best day of their vacation."I.G.F.A certified captain!

Born in Lima, Peru, of German parents, Captain Derek Biel's family moved to Antigua in 1976 into a house not 10 yards from the ocean. The ocean has always been a passion for him. He first became involved in the fishing industry working for a dive company but soon became more interested in fishing and was hired on as a captain on a 36' Hatteras.
Derek finished college in 1989 and moved to St. Thomas to fish two seasons with legendary Capt. Red Bailey. In early 1991 he finally got a 45' Hatteras Convertible, and after six months of hard work to make Obsession the perfect charter boat he started fishing charters in late 1991. It has been a steady rise from the first few charters to an extremely successful business, and he is in the process of looking for a second boat for special trips in the Caribbean. During the last 15 years Derek has fished not only in Antigua, but in Australia, Costa Rica the USA and in the Caribbean. In Antigua, the fishing is always exciting. with wahoo, dolphin-fish, tuna and kingfish around most of the year and blue and white marlin during the summer months. In 2006 Obsession made Champion Boat in the Marlin Division during the 40th Annual Antigua Sportfishing Tournament against a field of 31 boats from all over the Caribbean. Derek and his crew continue to promote more tag-and-release fishing on the island.
